The Black Dragon Bellydance troupe formed in November 2008. The troupe is a collaborative project, and we support each other as a group and as soloists. Troupe members have varied dance backgrounds and training including cabaret-style bellydance and American Tribal Style bellydance, as well as ballet, tap, and modern dance.
Our goals are to help each other grow and develop as dancers and performers, to have fun, and to create new performance and learning opportunities for fusion bellydance in the Delaware/Philadelphia/New Jersey region.

About Our Dance Style
Please note that our style of dance style is not representative of a specific Middle Eastern culture. We draw inspiration from many world dances and infuse them with a heavy dose of American fantasy. We believe that dance is a living art form. We strive to respect the ancient and diverse history of Middle Eastern dance while embracing modern bellydance themes including gothic, mediaeval, tribal fusion, and theatrical/fantasy.
